Detailed information
On this day-long excursion to Mikulov, you will get to see all beauties the town has to offer. We will begin the day with a wine tasting at one the best wineries of the region, followed by some hiking to take in the sights. After hiking up the Holy Hill, one of the peaks of the Palava hills, and hearing about the Stations of the Cross and the chapel of St Sebastian, we will be rewarded with a stunning view overlooking the town and the surrounding vineyards. From there, it’s only a short stroll down the hill, which will be followed by lunch in a local gastronomical gem—a restaurant in the building of the former rabbinate! By now, we will have reached the former Jewish ghetto, where we will take a tour, visiting the local synagogue and historical cemetery. During our walk through the historical town centre, we can admire the castle, see the tomb of local noble family of Ditrichstein, and maybe even wander through the town’s historical market square, winding our way up to a local winery at end the day, finishing our exploration off with another wine tasting before leaving for Prague.
